"I have been a member of ISPA for over 10 years and attended 6 annual Conferences; however, I had never attended a Knowledge Network until last summer. Conference is truly a special experience where more than 3,000 people in the industry unite, yet I was limiting myself from so much more. "
"This past February ISPA introduced a new one day format with their Knowledge Network program. Even better, they practically gave the program away for free - $75 for the first member, $37.50 for each additional member you bring!! As important as training is for the development of our businesses, my budget is much thinner than it use to be. This opportunity of practically free knowledge allowed me to bring a fellow team member along for the experience. It was fabulous to see her (Carol Phillips') excitement and energy through the program, which will only create a synergy for continued growth in our business."
"When I attend Knowledge Networks my top two objectives are education and networking. In the past I haven't always made it around to all the vendors' booths. I enjoyed having a smaller number of vendors at this new format and more of a focus on education. Yet the vendors were creatively weaved into the program in a fun manner."
"With the lower price point on the program, I believe an opportunity opened for non-ISPA members to get a taste of what the organization has to offer. My table included three attendees from a local salon in New Orleans area enjoying their first ISPA program. If you do not live locally, then I suggest still attending these programs, but then schedule a mini-vacation on the front or back side of the trip. And being able to visit with the ISPA board members...please call us anytime, what can we do to help you, please access what we have learned, etc... it's a great sense of security and being taken care of (after all, who takes care of the caretakers? ISPA!)
- NEW KNOWLEDGE Carol's class was great. We have already implemented two of her retail strategies. Here is the story: a. I challenged all spa therapist to add just $10 to each sale. b. Carole also suggested a lap blanket for pedicures during the winter. So, we had these 3 fabulous Sonoma Lavender Hot wraps that had not sold in the 30 days they have been here. We put one in the Pediroom and IN 4 HOURS our nail tech sold two hot wraps and could have sold a third one if we had had one in stock. I turned around and ordered 20 more. So, spa sales: up; nail tech commission check: up; guest satisfaction: up. I'd say that is a win-win-win!"
