WAYS OF GIVING
There are a variety of ways to financially contribute to the ISPA Foundation that provide benefits both to you and the Foundation. Below are several methods, however, opportunities may also be designed to meet your interests. The ISPA Foundation would be pleased to work with you and your personal advisors to find the method that fits your needs and wishes, as well as ensure any technical requirements are met. Confidentiality is respected.
Gifts of Cash
Gifts of cash are tax deductible and is the simplest way to give to the ISPA Foundation. This method of giving can be a a one time contribution, or made as frequently as you desire. Annual pledges can also be arranged. These gifts can be in any amount and is an easy way to support the efforts of the ISPA Foundation.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities have a double tax benefit as it provides relief from capital gains tax and is tax deductible.
Gifts of Real Estate and Other Personal Properties
Gifts of real estate and other personal properties include artwork, antiques, collections, royalties, copyrights, patents, etc.
Gifts of Life Insurance
Through a gift of life insurance, you can make the ISPA Foundation the owner/irrevocable beneficiary of the policy and receive immediate income tax deduction. If your policy is fully paid, the initial worth of the policy will be the amount of the deduction, unless that value exceeds the value or cost basis. If your life insurance policy has cash value and you no longer need its offered protections, you can make the ISPA Foundation the primary or contingent beneficiary of the cash policy. As the contingent beneficiary, the ISPA Foundation would receive the cash policy in the event that the named primary beneficiary does not survive you.
Gifts through Bequests
Gifts through a bequest can be made through your will in several ways. You can state that a specific dollar amount or property be given to the ISPA Foundation; allocate a certain percentage of your estate be given to the Foundation after payment of all other bequests, taxes, debts, and expenses, or name the Foundation as the contingent beneficiary of your estate, where the Foundation receives any property remaining after all other beneficiaries have passed away.
Life Income Gifts
Life income gifts produce a regular income for both you and the ISPA Foundation. Through this type of gift, you are able to give and receive at the same time. Life income gifts include annuity trusts and unitrusts.
Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts
Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts are made through donating assets that can be converted to cash and is then invested under the trustee's supervision. You and one other person can receive income on this gift. The principle amount of the trust is given to the ISPA Foundation only after the people named on the trust have passed away.
Charitable Remainder Unitrust
With a Charitable Remainder Unitrust, the contributor transfers assets to an ISPA Foundation trustee. You will retain the income interest for up to 20 years and after this period, the Foundation receives the principle. This form of giving pays a percentage of the trust asset, which is revalued annually.
Charitable Lead Trust
With this type of gift the donor transfers substantial assets to beneficiaries with lowered gift and estate taxes through establishing a trust during their lifetime or in a will. In this case, heirs will most likely receive a larger inheritance. In order to do this, a donor must transfer the property to a trust, which will pay a specific amount to the ISPA Foundation for a specified period of time. Following this period of time, the property is returned to the donor or a next generation beneficiary usually with reduced gift and estate taxes.
Additional Ways to Contribute
There are additional ways you can contribute and support the Foundation, such as participating in ISPA Foundation events, volunteering your time and knowledge and purchasing ISPA Foundation materials.
