ISPA President - Lynne Walker McNees
Lynne Walker McNees is the president of the International SPA Association. Since November 1997, McNees has managed the operations of the organization representing more than 2,700 spa professionals in 75 countries. McNees works from ISPA’s headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, and travels throughout the world promoting and representing the spa industry.
As ISPA’s official spokesperson, McNees is frequently interviewed as a spa expert by major media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, CNBC, CNN, the Associated Press and numerous consumer and trade publications.
Prior to her role with ISPA, McNees worked for several years in Washington, D.C. Her significant roles in the nation’s capitol included: venue marketing manager for World Cup USA 1994, four years as the education director for the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships and assistant to the Deputy Director of Presidential Personnel in the White House.
McNees’ numerous professional activities include memberships in the Bush/Quayle Alumni Association, White House Fellows Alumni Association, ASAE (American Society of Association Executives) and KSAE (Kentucky Society of Association Executives), as well as being chosen for the Leadership Bluegrass Class of 1996. She has served as a team leader for the United Way of the Bluegrass, as well as the Alzheimer’s Association and Multiple Sclerosis Society, and is one of two people who began the Lexington, Ky., branch of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Additionally, McNees has served as a local volunteer for the Hope Center, Children’s Miracle Network, Moveable Feast, Habitat for Humanity and the St. Joseph’s Association for Volunteerism Among Young Adults. McNees is a member of Southland Christian Church in Lexington.
A native of Dallas, Texas, McNees is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiological science. She is married to Barry McNees and resides in Georgetown, Ky.
