MAKE A RELAXING FALL INTO AUTUMN

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For most of us, the scents of cinnamon, apple and pumpkin bring to mind cozy images of baking and eating pies, cookies and other goodies on crisp, autumn nights. Though, the coziness of autumn should not be confined to the kitchen. Instead of eating those ingredients, it’s time to wear them!

Encompassing day spas to destination spas and the companies that make products for the spa industry, members of the International SPA Association are offering unique spa treatments and products to help spa-goers hydrate warm-weather skin and prepare for the chilly months ahead. “ISPA members find it important to enhance their offerings seasonally to address the needs of dryer skin as the weather changes,” said ISPA President Lynne McNees. “It’s critical to set aside time to relax, reflect, revitalize and rejoice in the fall season before the rush of the holiday season begins.”

With 3,000 members in 75 countries, many ISPA members are offering special treatments and products as the seasons change. You may access all off ISPA’s members online at www.experienceispa.com, but we’re putting the spotlight on a few treatments and products you will find this fall:

  • Arcona Inc. in Los Angeles is offering several fall products including pumpkin body lotion for repairing sun-damaged skin, a cranberry toner and an organic fruit enzyme peel that uses pumpkin, sweet potato and cranberry enzymes.
  • West Virginia’s Atasia Spa is tying in with the regional Apple Butter Festival. During September and October, Atasia will offer an Apple Butter Scrub treatment that begins with a warm body wash and ends with apple-scented body lotion.
  • California’s CA BOTANA International releases a new Pumpkin Enzyme Mask for the face and body. The mask may be used weekly to re-texturize skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots.
  • The Golden Door Spa at the Boulders Resort in Arizona is offering a Golden Harvest Facial, which combines pumpkin, green tea and avocado oil to cleanse and revitalize your skin.  Essential oils of sweet orange, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg are also used to calm and clear the mind.
  • The Pumpkin Body Treat at California’s The Spa at Santaluz includes the application of warmed pumpkin, cream, cornmeal and honey to exfoliate dead skin cells. And, the Sweet Pumpkin Spice Pedicure, including a cinnamon spice soak, will have your toes dancing!
