Exhibiting Tips from ISPA
When preparing to exhibit at the 2007 ISPA Conference & Expo, keep these Earth-friendly pointers in mind……
Pre-Conference
E-mail current and prospective clients your booth number or invitations to special events rather than using snail mail. If print materials are used, choose recycled paper or living tree paper and soy based inks. Printers can provide more information on these and other environmentally friendly materials.
Packing Materials
-
Packing Tape: Choose a paper-backed tape, which can be recycled or even composted. Avoid vinyl or PVC backed tapes, which are particularly toxic to produce and release toxins if incinerated. Polypropylene versions, while still plastic are less toxic.
-
Packing Peanuts: Use cornstarch peanuts from www.chateauproducts.com, which can be composted or dissolved in the bathtub.
-
-
Paper: Save office paper in the weeks prior to Conference that would normally be recycled. Crumple it up and use when packing boxes.
FREEcycle
Visit www.freecycle.org for information on receiving free boxes, bubble wrap and peanuts. Freecycle is a grassroots, online networking service whose purpose is to offer for free items that would normally be discarded.
Post Conference
Save boxes and packing materials to re-use for return exhibit freight. These materials can then be recycled or saved for future shipping.
