MEDIA REGISTRATION AND PRESS POLICIES
Media Registration Eligibility Requirements:
Journalists who are employed by accredited news organizations attending the meeting for the purpose of editorial coverage will be granted media credentials. No more than two passes per outlet will be granted. To qualify, journalists must complete the Press Registration Form and submit the following:
- A letter verifying the assignment to the ISPA Conference & Expo on the letterhead of the news organization being represented
- Media Identification such as an international accredited press pass
- ISPA Journalistic Code of Ethics and Conduct Form
Freelance journalists must submit copies of three bylined spa-related articles and an official letter of assignment from an accredited news organization. Freelancers who were given credentials for the 2011 ISPA Conference & Expo and are requesting credentials for the upcoming annual event for the same news organizations must submit coverage of the 2011 ISPA Conference & Expo.
Newsletter media must submit three issues of their newsletter and copies of three bylined spa-related articles. If a representative was registered as media at a previous ISPA Conference & Expo, one of the issues submitted must demonstrate the resulting editorial coverage.
Representatives from online media publications must have appropriate media credentials (i.e., a letter of assignment and/or a business card from a recognized news organization as well as three bylined spa-related articles). Bloggers must adhere to these guidelines as well and the subject matter and content of their blog will be taken into account.
Film crews and video production companies must submit a written request that includes information about the company, the purpose of attending the Conference, synopsis of footage, and information on the supporters of the project. Each request will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Companies or organizations producing publications, videos and/or other electronic media intended for internal use, marketing, advertising, financial analysis or public relations purposes may not register as media. Financial analysts, sales, advertising, marketing and public relations personnel may not register as media.
On-Site Media Guidelines
Session Admission
Registered media are required to wear the Conference media badge at all times while on site. All educational sessions including the professional development sessions, the master session and daily general sessions are open to the media. Entry into each session and the Expo floor requires a badge. In addition, media may attend the Wednesday night Evening Event.
Members of the media are prohibited from taking photos or videotaping in any education session including the general session. For photos of the sessions, please contact ispa@ispastaff.com.
Interviews
An on-site media room is available for registered media to conduct interviews in. The media room is open Oct. 15 - 17, 2012 from 8 am until the final session of the day. If you would like to schedule an interview with an ISPA spokesperson please contact ispa@ispastaff.com.
